As if the previous post wasn’t a hoot, we have another instant classic. Since it was too difficult to decide which one deserved Quote Of The Day, we gave this one it’s own category.
Not long after HB 41 was defeated, Delegate Bob Hull (D-38, Falls Church) introduced a conventional tax increase bill, HB 1266, to the same sub-committee.
It would would raise the tax from 17.5¢ per gallon to 23.5¢ per gallon, or in his words,
“A fairly modest increase.”
Only in the liberal mind is a 40-percent increase “modest.”
