Our Fairfax County grassroots chapter, the Fairfax Family Forum, is sponsoring a candidates forum this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. for the men running in the special Virginia Senate election in the 37th district to replace Attorney General-elect Ken Cuccinelli. The candidates are Democrat Dave Marsden, who only a few weeks ago moved into the district, and Republican Steve Hunt, a former member of the Fairfax County School Board. We’ll have more tomorrow on some developments up there. Here is the information from the Fairfax Family Forum:
The (FFF) is pleased to announce the 37th State Senate District Candidate Forum on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. The event is organized by the FFF’s “Northern Virginia Candidates Forum Steering Committee,” an interdenominational group of local clergy and lay leaders. The forum will be modeled after the successful event hosted by Pastor Rick Warren at Saddleback Church with the 2008 Presidential candidates.
The forum will give citizens of the 37th State Senate District a chance to hear from the invited candidates, Delegate Dave Marsden (D) and former Fairfax County School Board Member Steve Hunt (R), on critical issues facing all Virginians. It will be held at Fair Oaks Church off West Ox Road. The event moderator is Fair Oaks Church Senior Pastor, David R. Stokes.
This non-partisan candidate forum will be fair and balanced and provide each candidate a full opportunity to state their views on critical issues facing the Commonwealth. The forum will include individual interviews of each candidate by the moderator. Each interview will be followed by questions from the audience at the forum.
