The Left tries to caricature conservatives as those who want to take away liberties, freedoms and rights. They accuse conservatives, especially Christians, of “forcing your religion on us” and of wanting to instill a Puritanical government. It seems to escape them that their secularism is every bit as much of a religion as Christianity; intolerance of those with whom they disagree and a willingness to punish them, their commandments; and abortion their sacrament. It’s a typical tactic of the Left: Accuse your opponents of that which you yourself do. Whether it’s forcing people to buy a product or to attend a certain school or even denying people the right to eat what they want, the Left proves times and time again that its goal is a less free America. It proves the axiom, “More government, less freedom.”
The Left hangs its libertarian hat on “choice” — until you press them, that is. It turns out its idea of choice is the freedom to abort unborn children. The Left’s idea of “free to choose” isn’t what Milton Friedman had in mind. Proving all this is the video below, a sampling of delegates to the Democrat National Convention by reason.tv. Reason, mind you, isn’t exactly pro-life. But it recognizes the all-encompassing, Big Government, control freak nature of the Left. Watch the truly New Puritans explain their definition of liberty.
Not exactly free to choose: No to school choice, no to eating what you want, but yes to the government telling you how, what and when to do everything. But they still support “choice.”

Gosh, Firstly, you claim to be a non-partisan organization but this is not a non-partisan opinion you have expressed.
There are folks like me who respect someones right to practise their religion, just as long as they do not try and impose their views on others who do not agree with them. One of the falsehoods groups like FF propagate is that it is the ‘Left’ that seeks to oppress them by preventing them from expressing their religious beliefs.
It is not true.. For example, consider the marriage debate. On the one side of the position you have advocates for restricting the liberty of an individual (and their pursuit of happiness) based on a particular (but not universal) human interpretation of the Bible. The rest of the evidence are generally easily debunked ‘studies’ that do not stand up to objective scrutiny.
The problem with groups like FF is I think at heart you mean well and have good intentions for society. The tragedy is the terrible harm inflicted on innocent people just trying to live their lives with no impact whatsoever on your own, but not allowed to because of outdated, backward prejudice that does not often allow itself to be intellectually challenged.
I wish we could have more honest and less combative dialogue. People on the FF side probably believe there is drastic harm to society from adopting supposedly ‘immoral’ ‘behavior’ etc. People on the side of LGBT rights and pro-choice also believe the contending position wreaks terrible harm on society. Logic tells you that one side is wrong yet both sides have ‘facts’ they claim support their hypothesis. So if you want to get the truth, you need to be prepared for your facts to stand upto objective scrutiny and accept you may be wrong if they don’t.
Open your eyes and have the courage to challenge whether your positions are right or not..
