Make sure your church is committed this November. Virginians are facing a crucial choice for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and members of the House of Delegates on this November.
Many of the policy gains we have made from informed consent to the Marriage Amendment are being challenged in the General Assembly and in court. The next Governor of Virginia will either enforce abortion center safety standards or he won’t. The next attorney general will either defend the Marriage Amendment in court or he won’t. The next lieutenant governor will cast the tie breaking votes in the Senate that reflect our values or he won’t. We need people in those offices who will stand for our shared principles.
The contrasts in the candidates are very stark. Is your church equipped to educate and motivate its members to vote their values on Election Day?
Join hundreds of churches across Virginia in observing “I’m Committed” Sunday on October 13. Distributing Family Foundation Action General Assembly Report Cards, Family Foundation non-partisan Voter Guides and I’m Committed cards, holding voter registration drives, and preaching on the importance of civic engagement or the issues of life or marriage are just a few of the ways your church can be involved.
Our values are under attack as never before in the history of our nation. If those who believe in the principles of life, marriage and religious liberty don’t stand up to defend them, no one else will.
If you are a pastor or decision maker in your church, please consider joining us in this effort. If you are not a pastor, please talk to him and make sure your church is involved. If we don’t make a stand now, we may not have too many more opportunities in the future.
