John Downer provides assistance to The Family Foundation’s advancement (nice word for fundraising) department including event organization, donor services and research, and database management.
John is proud to have been born in Virginia, the second of two boys in a military family. The Air Force life meant moving all over the U.S. and twice overseas, but John returned to Virginia for college and graduated from the University of Richmond. He then pursued a calling into Christian missions and served three years in Austria working with refugees and then an additional five years as a missionary recruiter for PIONEERS, in Orlando, FL. He returned to Virginia in 2008 and has been at The Family Foundation since May 2010.
John is married to Naomi and they have two boys, Brennan and Owen.
