Voter Guides 2011

In Virginia, “Our Time is Now” to ensure that legislation is enacted by our General Assembly that would create scholarships for low-income children to attend the school of their choice, protect faith-based adoption service organizations from being impacted by so call non-discrimination policies, and prohibit abortion from the moment an unborn child can feel pain.

The question is, will we rise to the challenge?

Yes, our time is now if we seize the opportunity that is before us.  For too long we have had good legislation pass the House of Delegates year after year, only to have it die in the Senate Education and Health Committee.  This year we can change all of that by educating Virginians about the voting records of House of Delegates and state Senate candidates and ensuring that pro-family voters go to the polls on Election Day!

All 100 seats of the House of Delegates and 40 seats of the state Senate are up for election.

Since there are no state-wide candidates on the ballot this year, the November election will be a very low turn out.  Recent polling found that 70 percent of Virginians aren’t paying any attention to this year’s elections.  Unfortunately, this may mean that the majority of the registered voters in your congregation likely won’t vote on Election Day.

Ensuring that Virginia’s voters are informed when they go to the polls on Election Day is a primary mission of The Family Foundation.  One of the best tools we have to help you cut through the campaign rhetoric and “spin” is our non-partisan Voter Guides.  These easy to read education pieces inform you of exactly where candidates for office stand on issues that are important to the family.

This year, The Family Foundation will distribute nearly 300,000 Voter Guides through out the Commonwealth, serving to both inform and mobilize voters.
