We need your help encouraging Governor Youngkin to sign, amend or veto several bills that on issues related to the sanctity of life, parental rights, challenged religious liberty, and the exploitation of people.
Please Take action on the bills listed below.
*IMPORANT: The Governor is not able to VETO the resolutions to initiate the process of amending the state constitution to enshrine unlimited abortion by anyone (HJ 1 / SJ 247) and redefine marriage to include gender ideology (HJ 9 / SJ 249). These resolutions bypass the Governor, but must be approved again during the 2026 session before it appears on the ballot, making the upcoming House of Delegate elections more critical than ever.
Gender Ideology & DEI
SB 1052 - Amends the definition of employees under the Human Rights Act from 15 to 5, subjecting them to additional requirements.

HB 1649 / HB 1675 / SB 740 - Injects unconscious bias and cultural competency into the profession of Medicine which could lead to an unstable work environment that does not benefit patients. The Governor’s amendment keeps the training requirement but removes the references to cultural competency.

Parental Rights
HB 1593 / SB 846 - Guarantees parents the right to their minor child’s online medical records.

SB 1048 (D-Pekarsy) / HB 1678 (D-Cohen) - Requires school board to notify parents about the safe storage of firearms and prescription drugs. The Governor’s amended language requires school boards to create policies for notifying parents if their child social transitions at school and to acquire parental consent for any counseling on gender related topics (i.e., Sage’s Law).

HB 2543 (D-Laufer) / SB 1370 (D-Srinivasen) – Requires procedures for students to receive counseling from school counselors via telehealth. The Governor’s Amendment requires parental consent for minors under the age of 18 before students use the service.

Sanctity of Life
HB 1716 / SB 1105 - Creates a broad and undefined right to contraception that would include abortion-causing drugs and sterilization, without any parental consent. The Governor’s amendment clarifies that this right already exists under Supreme Court rulings in Griswold v. Connecticut (1965) and Eisenstadt v. Baird (1972) and contains conscience protections.

HB 2235 - Increase protections for female inmates who are pregnant. The Governor’s amendment would change language to clarify that only women can get pregnant.
