Team Timothy is The Family Foundation’s prayer ministry. As we have sought to be obedient to Paul’s charge in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, Team Timothy has seen and experienced God’s grace and His hand working in answer to prayer. We realize that our past legislative and electoral successes can be attributed to God alone. Will you join with us as we give thanks to God and enter into prayer for all those in authority as well as the cultural issues facing our communities?

WEEKLY PRAYER RESOURCE

Every Tuesday, The Family Foundation leads prayer through a conference call, connecting Virginians from all across the state to pray for those in authority and for our culture. Our prayer time is guided by a weekly email that includes specific prayer points, including:

TEAM TIMOTHY CORPORATE PRAYER GUIDELINES (FOR PHONE CONFERENCE):

  • BIBLE-CENTERED

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

With each prayer point we start out with God’s word because we want to focus our minds on God’s solution for cultural issues—not on societal confusion. We also want to focus our minds on God’s message of hope and not on the world’s message of destruction and death. 

Our mission is to include a prayer covering for the work of The Family Foundation and its partners to defend life, family, and religious freedom. 

  • REDEMPTIVE FOCUS

When praying for those in authority, we keep a redemptive focus on God’s plans of hope for our leaders—we do not single out individuals to focus on personal shortcomings or flaws. 

  • MULTI-DENOMINATIONAL

Our prayer time is Bible and Gospel-centered. We welcome and encourage Christians from many different denominations to join us and therefore maintain an environment that is friendly to a diversity of denominations within the Christian faith. 

  • NON-PARTISAN

Rather than being focused on political parties, our prayer time is focused on biblical principles. We ask for God’s mercy to help strengthen policies that defend life, family, and religious freedom, as well as for the wisdom of government officials establishing these principles.

Friends—we can’t do this alone. We need your prayers to strengthen our spirits, empower us with perseverance, and infuse our work with God’s wisdom.

An illustration that comes to mind is the scripture passage about the Israelites facing an intimidating battle, so Moses went up to the hilltop to raise his staff in prayer. But he grew weary. So “when Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army” (Exodus 17:12-13).
