FAKE NEWS ATTACK ON FAMILY FOUNDATION’S PARENTAL RIGHTS TOOLS
We all knew public distrust of mainstream media was growing due to frequent reports that ignore obvious facts in favor of a political skew. And late night television's disdainful mockery of parents speaking up at school board meetings has only piled on to that. Even so, it’s still painful to be taken by surprise by a fake-news hit job. The Family Foundation experienced that today with efforts to smear its parent report form. (Watch the news report below.)
The Family Foundation created the form as an effort to empower parents who've been repeatedly ignored--or even shamed--by liberal school board members. The goal is to provide accountability by creating an easy-to-use forum where parents can document what's actually happening in their children's schools. The webpage explains this is a broader "next step" in the Protect Every Kid initiative "to hold school boards accountable" to parents. Parents can use the form to complete a variety of online "incident reports," including religious-freedom violations, sexually explicit or socialistic/critical-race-theory-themed curriculum promoted without parental notice--as well as violations of children's safety and privacy rights in vulnerable areas, such as locker rooms or bathrooms.
"This form is essentially a virtual version of organizing a mob of people with pitchforks and torches to go after transgender students in schools," said a spokesperson for Virginia Pride.
First, let me be perfectly clear that we believe every single child in school should be equally and fairly protected, including those struggling with their gender. It is possible to protect all kids with out creating more harm and vulnerability for them. What's so ironic, though, is that not one parent to date has used our form to report anything related to a transgender issue--so far all the reports have addressed potential religious freedom violations, violent content or sexually explicit content, such as a student being subjected to a school play featuring a rape scene. I gave NBC examples of what parents reported--but its television report completely ignored those facts--and the reality that the school incident report form is dealing with a wide variety of violations to parental rights and student freedoms.
After all, isn't that the kind of factual reporting you do if you really want both sides of an issue? Instead, NBC ended it's report with this statement: "Virginia Pride says it will take every opportunity it has to oppose this online form."
Could it be that this is part of the ongoing, fear-based effort to shame parents into silence by labeling anyone who dissents from the "woke" viewpoint a bigot? The good news is, liberals can launch all of the attempted FBI threats, comedy-show shaming and fake-news hit pieces they want, but it's clear parents will never be silenced. This movement has awakened and it will not stop. You can help the parental rights movement continue to grow by sharing our School Incident Report form far and wide and equipping even more families to have a voice.
Our rights don't end in the public school parking lot!
