At the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors meeting September 24th, Fairfax citizens and clergy leaders challenged Board members to demonstrate equal respect and “honor our faith community”—in light of the Board’s 9-0 vote to recognize Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter Sunday earlier this year.

The citizens had waited several months—due to the Board of Supervisors roll-forward system of speaking slots—for a chance to present their concerns and ask the board to approve a proclamation declaring Thursday, November 21, as Church Heritage Recognition Day.
