Intern Spotlight: Abby Klose!

This summer, we are excited to have five interns working with us in policy, law, grassroots, and intercessory prayer. Since their start date on June 1st, they have already contributed valuable work that advances the mission of The Family Foundation. In addition to their normal responsibilities, they also participate in our weekly EQUIP Worldview Program for high school seniors and college-age students.

For the duration of our internship program, we will release a bio of each intern written by one of their fellow interns so you can get to know The Family Foundation Intern Class of 2020. Today, we’d like you to meet Abby!

Abby Klose joins The Family Foundation this summer as a policy intern. She is a Virginia native, born in Fredericksburg before moving to Henrico County in her early teenage years. The values and mission of The Family Foundation are important to her as she wants to be a voice for Christians across Virginia. She has previously interned with The Heritage Foundation in Washington D.C. through a program called the Washington Fellowship while at Liberty University, where she is a rising senior double-majoring in Government: Politics & Policy and Pre-law. Abby is involved with the Student Government at Liberty, serving as a delegate where she proudly voted in favor of legislation that helped students who are pregnant/mothers. She is also a leader among her peers spiritually, weekly hosting a small group as a Residence Hall Community Group Leader. Academically, Abby maintains a high level of rigor while simultaneously keeping her position on the Dean’s List.

Among her list of interests, Abby is a fan and enthusiast of all things Guy Fieri. From Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives to Guy’s Grocery Games, you can rest assured that Abby is following closely. She has noted that if Columbus, Ohio changes its name to “Flavortown” through a current petition, she wouldn’t necessarily be opposed. It's not that she has any opposition to Christopher Columbus, but rather her keen interest in Mr. Fieri that has led her to this decision.

Abby enjoys spending time with her friends and family (with the beach being her preferred location). Her family consists of her father, mother, younger brother, and younger sister.

In the office, Abby is known for her kind, warm personality, and for her diligent work ethic and determination to succeed. She hopes to honor the Lord with all that she does, desiring to live out 2 Corinthians 12:9-10: “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
